I watched a video that was posted here by Sarah Hallberg and it answered some questions that I had been thinking about since my type two diabetes diagnosis. My diabetes instructor told me I had to eat 30to 60 carbs each meal and snacks three times a day. I just couldn't figure out how that would help me get better. Tonight I had beef brisket and a small spinach salad with bacon and boiled egg with a red wine vinegar dressing. I'm going to try what Dr Hallberg suggested and see how that goes. I don't want to be over weight and on diabetes meds forever!

I was told the same thing over 30 years ago by the diabetes nutritionalist. 2500 calories a day and 45 carbs per meal. That was too much......way too much.

Yeah, I've read many times that Dietician's and doctors will give you guidelines that keep you on meds. Going ketogenic not only fixes that, people mostly feel amazing. (I'm not diabetic but was prediabetic with high blood sugar-- when I accidentally eat too many carbs, even just a bit, I fall asleep!)

Diabetes meds are a $50 Billion business in the United States alone and growing rapidly. The ADA and the medical schools are owned by big pharma. The "standards of care" they work from are authored by the drug companies and, obviously, designed to maximize profits. That means extended, perpetual, patent medicine enabled, illness until death. Same in every non-infectious disease category.

Entrusting the typical American physician with your diabetes care is like trusting your crack dealer to handle your rehab.

There is a book by Dr Joel Fuhrman "The End of Diabetes" and it was suggested to me by my cardiologist. I have been loosing very good on this plan of eating and also enjoying the food and feeling much better too! Actually this was the first time I had to put down any kind of gain since I started in March. So whatever way you decide to go, I wish you luck!
