So. . .gained 2-½ pounds from: two glasses of wine, fried cauliflower, miso salad, and barbecued pork! AND, I only ate half of the salad and pork (fabulous restaurant, though -- specializing in "street food" from around the world). Sigh. And then, it could be partially because of the ibuprofen I took for the sore knee (after walking 2-½ hours at the craft fair). Aha! Here is some information from the Washington Post: The nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs ibuprofen (Advil and its generic cousins) and naproxen (Aleve and its generics) can cause or worsen edema. (!) The article also mentions venous insufficiency, which I have(!!!), having had to have my great saphenous vein ablated.
Live and learn, and learn, and learn some more. Hmmmmm -- got a foot cramp in the pool this morning. Related???
Back on normal, sensible eating today. As soon as the rest of the wine in the current bottle is gone -- about 4 oz. -- I'm going to drop wine on Sundays (having it only on Friday and Saturday).
