OPINIONS NEEDED FOR SOUNDING OUT POSSIBILITIES. I am with in 50 pounds of my FINAL GOAL. So why Can I not get with the program and vanquish the final dragon? Is it fear of having to choose a new goal? Or fear of having all that hangy down skin? Or fear that I will not know what to do with myself... I have spent so many years loosing this pent up weight that I am afraid it will change who I am? Like so many other things what happens when you reach the goal? It is scary like what happens when you die??? re-incarnate? heaven? hell? limbo? quantum flux? The line at the DMV?( don't answer this question if you know... I really don't want the spoiler LOL) I am hoping Ya'll will help me figure out which Knight to joust so I can win the right to battle the dragon. Thanks to all who have Helped me through these years YOU ARE WORTH MORE THAN YOU KNOW.

Rebecca, you are the dragon. You are fighting Yourself. I know...I am the same, or have been in the past. I have lost the same 35 pounds more times than I can count. Which means that I have lost literally hundreds of pounds. Give Your body permission to be healthy. Give Your mind permission to be satisfied, and happy. When every part of your "team" comes together to work for the greater good, You will amaze yourself. Good luck, and Be Kind To Yourself. Look within for the answers.

On the mental plain, never view a cheat day as something you've earned or deserve. Are you adjusting your intake for your current weight. How are you doing with simple carbs? Are you recording "everything" (even weighing) that you eat? Feel free to contact me in a message, because I will likely miss it id you do so here.

Do you have a vision of yourself at your goal weight? Spend a few minutes each day, clear your mind, and review that vision. It's a really powerful way to create cognitive dissonance between the vision and current state, to help drive you to your goal. Then when you get there, you won't have body dysmorphia, and you won't let the weight drift back up.

How much diet/ activity change do you imagine when you reach maintenance? Pretty much everyone agrees that it is at least as difficult as losing. If there was one thing you could change about your WOE without repurcussions, what would it be? Have you given up anything, or added anything, during your journey that has not been pleasant? I think for me, having yo-yo'd multiple times in my life, I'm afraid of reaching the end because I feel like failure looms on the other side as just another yo-yo. I like to eat, a lot. I like to do things besides exercise. I work and have other responsibilities. Reaching the end doesn't mean the struggle is over, like finishing building something. It's more like dipping water from a slowly leaking row boat, while trying to cross the lake. We can get most of the water (fat) out, but it will run back in and become a problem without constant vigilance. Sorry, not very encouraging, just sharing that I have a similar issue. Just remember, time passes whether we try to improve or not.

I have hit my goal weight within in a couple pounds that I am not concerned about, my real goal is to regain my shape which is going to take a while. I was inactive for a long time and depressed. now with my reduced weight it makes it easier for me to be more active and start developing the muscle tone I used to have. so for me, while the "diet" is over the living the dream is just starting. my body is much better than it was but I have a long ways to go. so you can continue to have goals once your weight loss is done.
