Diario de CherBru, 25 abr. 08

Hi, My name is CherBru and I am a recovering COUCH POTATO! I want to say a big THANK YOU to all the leaders of this challenge. You have been instrumental in getting me off the couch! (((((HUGS)))))

Yesterday I didn't climb any stairs, but worked on upper body. I was so sore after climbing 6 flights at a time, 3 times daily on Tuesday & Wednesday. But today I was back at it. I was wanting something that I could do while at work on a routine basis. I started researching and that was one of the suggestions for exercise. I have a set of stairs at home but don't count those steps (unless I decide to go up & down 6 times for my focused activity).

I have changed my evening snack to cereal from FF cream cheese desert. I like it & it's making me more regular. :-)

I finally showed a loss today. Yeah! It's weird how my weight does. I usually average about 1 pound a week loss. On Saturday I have a loss, then SU,M,TU,W, I stay above my SAT weight. Usually on Th I am back to baseline and on FRI or SAT I show another loss. Then it all starts over! So I don't get bummed about it anymore as I am use to the cycle.

Have a great day everyone!

Yay for getting off the couch! Your stair climbing must be working if you are sore. Don't forget to stretch, especially afterward, as that will help prevent some of the soreness. Adding more fibre to your diet is definitely a plus and doubly so when it replaces another non-fibre snack! Kudos for that. It's great that you have figured out the rhythm of your body and know what to expect on the scales. My rhythm has been thrown off beat lately but hope to find the "groove" again soon :)

I am here to vouch for CherBru that she is a "recovering" couch potato. I too suffer from this potentially terminal condition. When CherBru and I first started SBD, she kept telling me that she just couldn't make herself exercise. She said things like "I've just never been athletic like you", "I have nowhere to walk", "The elliptical is just too hard for me", etc. Now look at her go! I accredit her recovery to the Around the World challenge that has motivated so many of us to get off our butt and do something! It has made us think outside the box about exercise. We don't have to be exercise queens to burn calories. Just getting up and moving is an improvement. Cheryl is now walking with her husband, walking from her car into work instead of using the shuttle, taking the stairs instead of the elevator, gardening instead of making me come do it for her, exercising to video tapes, and other things that are burning calories! I am so proud of her!!! WAY TO GO CHERYL! KEEP UP THE GREAT JOB! p.s. Don't get rid of that elliptical machine too fast. You might be in better condition to use it soon!

CherBru "YOU ARE ROCKIN'"!! Hi, "I'm pretty face & I am a couch potato & food lover". This sounds like a 12-step beginning!!! LOL, I agree that this challenge has allowed us to focus on being active. I know that there are different levels of activity & I know there are different opinions of what is truly active. "My opinion" is if we are increasing our normal "couch potato" lifestyle then that is being active. Look at you for instance! YES, YOU ARE DOING IT!!! I am doing it! When I can I park my car further away in a parking lot so I have to walk. (by the way, I haven't logged those minutes) I DO IT! When I have to get my mail (which is up the road we live on) I walk & don't drive my car like I used to! (I don't log those minutes either). This challenge has given me the mindset to do these things! Because I am thinking, YEP, THINKING before I do things! This challenge is AWESOME & you & I are prime examples! There are many more & I hope they let the leaders of this challenge know it! My hat is off to OUR leader's & to BABU for making us work for our activity! CherBru you are doing WONDERFUL & I know you must be feeling GRAND!! Each day is a challenge of its own & you are conquering the fat demon! WAY TO GO GIRLFRIEND!!!

It's hard to change once you've been a CP! At least now I do some activity! If I didn't know better I think I had "iron poor blood" and needed some Geritol! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r4OyKN8YWak
