Rare non-Friday journal, but I will need to keep tomorrow's short (if at all) because I am only working a half day.

I am picking up my son immediately after school because we are going camping with his Cub Scout pack in upstate New York. I need to pack the car and mow the front yard before we go. I am kicking around the idea of taking the entire day off, but currently planning on being at work until noon.

It has not been a great week by my past standards. I WBNR'ed this morning and estimate that I'll be down maybe a pound by tomorrow morning, but I can't seem to shake the morning bloat that I've had all week. My downward slope has really leveled out, and though I've hit my second marker, I'm still quite a bit off from my ultimate goal. I know, "stay the course. It's bound to slow down the lower we go," and worrying about it only makes it worse (cortisol and everything). Just a bit frustrating.

To make matters worse, my son has a baseball game this evening. I love baseball, but baseball means sunflower seeds. Sunflower seeds means salt. Salt means water retention like you read about (one serving of original seeds has like 2,600mg sodium!?!?!). I was toying with pushing recording my weight to Sunday, but that will give me a potential excuse to get off the train and I don't want to make it harder to get back on. Besides, 2 1/2 days of camp food probably won't make it any better. Just bite the bullet and look for a good drop next week. I will end up willing myself to not have any seeds tonight...

Anyway, I just wanted to get that off my chest. Make it a great day, everyone!!!

Here’s to no seeds unless they are unsalted LoL My salt demon is popcorn 🍿 so I should start making my own and add no salt seasoning which is really good 😊

there are low sodium seeds as well, or other flavors like cracked pepper. Or I am sure you could find salt free.

@Little Red Fox - I've found that "low (or lower) sodium" needs to be taken with a huge grain of salt, pun intended, in that in many cases, there isn't much of a reduction. Besides, reduced sodium bacon tastes like bacon. Reduced sodium soy sauce tastes like soy sauce, reduced salt Lays (not that I eat them much anymore) still resemble potato chips. Low or no salt sunflower seeds taste like paper. C'est la vie. One night surely won't kill me.
