Doing OK with the diet. Went off this evening to an event and ate sweets. Uh-oh, so some extra calories tonight. I will do three vocabulary words this evening for the past days I've missed. I will get a laptop most likely this weekend.

-------An interesting side note - a local morning weatherman who didn't even have the evening gig at a small Springfield, Massachusetts channel got promoted big time to the Weather Channel nationally. He's tall sort of Italian looking guy, quite young and can't be much older than thirty. Usually when a newscaster leaves they go to nowhere better. One woman on a Springfield channel got promoted to New England Cable News in Boston, and one of the guys from there is now on ABC news, his name is Dan Harris and he is maybe a weekend guy now - I can't keep track of all of these people. It's interesting when you see someone from a smaller channel on a national or bigger venue interviewing very important people...

Hi Glenn, how are you tonight? I read a couple of your journals and I was not aware you suffered from agoraphobia. How hard this must be for you. I cannot imagine not feeling good about going out to places and not being anxious or panicking. Who are the people being unkind to you...neighbors? I think Deb gave you some good advice the other day. Stay away from these kinds of people. They will drag you down. Looks like you have decided on the laptop vs the stereo. A neighbor has been unkind and I broke my friendship with her off. It was all negativity. Two social workers were not nice - aggressive/passive behavior, I asked to see some other two people. My family is absent from my life totally and have been quite cruel in the past. I never hurt one more than they have hurt me. Most of my neighbors are fine now, I just have been ignoring the majority of them, one day they're friendly, then a week later they're mean. I can't drive a car. In the 1980s it was so severe I couldn't do go on any moving vehicle more than maybe one or two days in a row, so school was out and I had the arthritis too so work wasn't in the picture. I had trouble going outdoors - open spaces bothered me. I'm better now but can't drive still and don't even want to. It's OK, I don't miss it and besides I've never really been able to afford a vehicle anyway so there was a reason for it. Otherwise I'd be upset I don't have lots of money for a decent ride... I have to look at it from the better side of the issue... I'm doing better than last night...

On a lousy note - a tip - if your bank account is very low and you're paying with a credit card don't accidentally use your bank card. Don't bring it along with you and use it by accident. I have to use mine for food sometimes and did the other day. I did and was just charged $35 for an overdraft fee. Whatever. I was hoping to use the money I won today to pay down bills. I would have had an extra $25 as now I don't need to go shopping for a while. Maybe I should pass on the computer. I think I will. And cut up the card. Then I can move if I want in the spring. I'm sick of being depressed about money but realize millions of Americans are. Anyway, even people in Third World countries may not have places considered of more value than the small apartment where I live but many live in nice four bedroom houses, which are better than my apartment. There income is low but everything is cheaper they just can't buy American things.

You can avoid the overdraft charges by asking the bank to not approve any charges if your balance is at zero. The law has changed on this as it was considered abusive, I forget the details, but you can definitely insist on no overdrafts.

Yes - info - I called and did. The consented. I had four dollars in the bank. Anyway, I told the bank I was going elsewhere. I called back like a half-hour later they were nicer and asked if I had a hardship siuation. It's not like my income is $40,000 a year and they can see the balances and investments and savings and bonds and money being deposited regularly in investment funds like most working Americans do. Thank God they wiped it out. I will be EXTREMELY cautious about the debit card and checks too from now on and balance everything daily. Thankfully, my friend Luanne told me this month some time thanks to President Obama they can't just overcharge horrendously anymore. Everyone may not agree with everything he is doing but he's helped with the banking and credit mess especially for people who are low income without money. I go from zero to zero every month and have to at least save twenty dollars a month in case I need an emergency ride home to or from the emergency room... Thanks info for your insight...

Will journal today's word tomorrow. Went to bed early - stupidly left AC off and it's warm out and the mosquitos woke me up with all the bite. Yikes! It has been a rough week, but I am waking up to who is/are my true friend(s) off the Internet. Those who judged me harshly in the past/or now because of my health are not true friends, even if they are relatives. That leaves everyone out except a select few. I joined two new groups, one I was a member before, and that group should help me get back into school by January or later. I have so much potential as a writer and that is why think some people are being hostile to me. I am even OK at writing poetry. I may write perhaps any genre as long as it does have some redeeming qualities. Bear with me everyone who has been reading my journals. Or perhaps not. It has been a rough week when people from twenty-five years ago who were conservative self-proclaimed religious helping me were actually evil people who thought nothing was wrong with me when I had bad mental problems along with arthritis. I turned the TV on and they said everyone wants 'entitlements'. Fine then, if you're wealthy and don't need them then you shouldn't get them. I'd be all for that if I won the lottery, but even the rich want their freebies, I worked for many of them and look at what Congress gives itself, don't get me going there...
