ive been thinkin several days about quittin the gym, since ive been doing more walking outside...been thinkin mabye it would be a differnt workout for me and a cheaper one also...not really about the money part...but since i been walkin, i been doing a morning walk for over a year now and then going to the gym...and i been thinkin last few mornings, the walk i been takin after my first one is equal to or more then what i was gettin at the gym...todays second walk was an hour and 20 min...and although i was tired when i got home...i really enjoyed it more then going to the gym...i guess the best part of going to the gym is seein my friends i see day in an day out ther...but when im walkin...its just a different feeling...being outside and enjoyin it...and i still see people as im walkin...cept they are driving by honkin now an wavin...lol...i hope its the right choice...time will tell...

I also have been walking outside and loving it! I am walking anywhere between 3- 5 times a week 45 minutes to an hour. If the gym that you belong has a pool and water aerobic class have you thought about doing that? My friend does that 3 times a week she and I walk 2 times a week after she gets off walk and than she is going to the gym and walking on the treadmill sometimes on Saturday and Sunday. You are an awesome job!! :) Keep up the GREAT work!!!

no all the gym has is weights an cardio machines...and since ive beein doing a gym workout for the last year...figure its time for a change...if i get bored walkin i can always rejoin...lol

Like I said before - you are our Energizer Bunny, E.T.! If you do quit the gym, you could try doing resistance bands or hand weights at home to keep your muscles worked out.

i have a set of 25 pound dumbbells and an ab cruncher that i can use when i take a day off from walking ...i turn my key in tomow when i go walkin by the gym...

I think you may enjoy it more and LOSE more because of that! NOBODY exercises more than YOU do!!!

Hmmmm....I like the idea that with the gym you have the best of 2 worlds, as well a bit more of a social life.....

hmmmm....if it's not a financial issue, I'd say keep the gym. It gets you the full body variations of workouts that you need. Personally I don't have a gym membership. I used to.... but it doesn't work into my busy schedule or finances now. I have my own elliptical, a resistance-ball (pilates ball), dumb-bell set that goes from 5 to 30 lbs, circuit training dvds, swimming laps, walking, and resistance bands I just recently bought. I also have a cardio-kickbox dvd that came with the other dvd's but it will be a while before I can do that. Just walking only targets certain areas......

Change is good, besides later if you start back at the gym all your friends will have missed you and be impressed with your never-ending-progress!! Energizer Bunny?---does sounds like you!

well i just got bck from turnin in my key...i talked with the owner again today...an he told me since i had been workin out up ther for a year...a change might be good for me...told me that its not important how far i walk, but to walk faster on my walks...hi intensity walks...so il have to keep that in mind when i go walking...and he said that by gettin away an just walking for a few months would give my body the change that it needs...it helped to talk with him today, as i still wasnt sure i was doing the right thing, even though yesterday i thought i was makin the right choice...you always wonder what if ...but like dwhummers just said...its a never ending progress...
