Diario de eliibonzi, 17 mar. 20

I'm under a lot of stress these days for the coronavirus and I keep eating nonstop. My family and friends live in Italy, I’m an exchange student here in the US but all my loved ones are there fighting against this virus. My city is the most affected of the country and I'm very worried, what can be an advice not to ruin all the things I’m trying to do to get back in shape? Quarantine doesn't help😩

Can you jog around the block a few times or find a place to take a short run/hike that is safe? Physical activity will burn off a lot of nervous energy. Running saved me when I had a lot of family stress. I'm sorry for your stress, but keep in mind that to be helpful to others you love you need to take care of yourself and your health also! Thoughts of you and your family and wishing you all good health!

Les Mills has affordable fitness classes on demand. My gym recommended them since they are closed for next two weeks. I read a lot of articles about fitness and diet now to keep me focused and motivated to make the right choices. Also to learn new things. I threw out ALL junk food that makes me weak. Less junk food around to make me fail and hate myself.

I am so sorry. Sending so much ♥️♥️♥️ and prayers 🙏🙏🙏. I work in health care and was in bed and got a text making sure I would be at work tomorrow so my job wasn’t in jeopardy....... wait what!!!???? I texted concerns to my O.M earlier, but was in bed getting ready to sleep for a 12.75- 14 hour shift tomorrow and get a text like that. Wow. I love my job. I have done everything to protect myself and patients and coworkers. I now cannot sleep. I have been at my job for 10 years. Private practice. Never indicated I wasn’t coming in. From a human being to another ♥️♥️♥️♥️🙏🙏🙏

Make a conscious decision NOT to deal with anxiety by eating. It’s that easy. Get out and walk, do not just sit in your room. Quarantine does not mean that you can’t go outside into the fresh air. Do not keep junk food easily on hand. You may not be able to help your own family but are there older people in your world who might be able to use some assistance during this time of crisis. Positive Action relieves stress

it's something surreal, this virus is really serious and a lot of people are dying because of it (and not only old people / people with problems, even young people in perfect health!!) unfortunately here many people continue to consider it ”just a flu" IT’S NOT!! I hope that here in America we will never reach the level that there is in Italy, the hospitals are collapsing, they’re full of patients, they don't know where to put them anymore, they are trying to create hospitals on ships or in schools, there are too many patients and the doctors working 15 hours a day can't help everyone. They have reached the point of having to decide who to save and who not, the situation is very serious and does not seem to improve. Let's not risk getting to that point here too, let's stay at home and not go out PLEASE! 🙏🏻

Thank you for your honest assessment of what is happening in Italy. No wonder you are so incredibly worried. As for you and the here and now... there is lots of good advice about caring for yourself and attending to stress through exercise. I hope you can take it. I have been told that 20 minutes of elevated heart rate is all you need a day to improve your mental health. I started running in my yard today and plan to do that daily. I truly hope your family is able to weather this awful illness. I agree we all need to stay home if we can and not be part of the problem.

so sorry, praying for u& Italy! Yeah its not just a normal flu. Coronavirus is different than many flu& virus in the past.... We need to take extra precautions to try slow down the spread. Dancing, listen to music, movies marathons or Netflix bingeing, reading ebooks. I also do yoga for back pain but noticed it helps me destress.

Thank you for the update Eliibonzi. I take stress head on and I hope that you find a way to take your stress and get some good sleep. I didn't get good sleep when I got the memo about this Pandemic, but I will pray for us all. Please find a way to stay motivated and happy and sing out loud if you have to. Just stay in the light hun. Everything is going to change but we as a kind will survive this.

Prayers for the people in Italy and especially for your family. So sorry that you are, understandably, stressed. Take care if your self. In addition to the wonderful advice here of others, you could do menus and meals for the week using healthy ingredients that you have on hand. Online exercise videos are very inspirational motivators.
