So,here I am again and a good day it has been.A very busy day I may add.
Haven't felt hungry all day so didn't pick at all.
My theatre list kept me running up and down to pharmacy after each patient so was very active all morning. Think my brain burnt lots of calories in the afternoon too-very stressful trying to sort out a bed for a patient that should have been sorted out before the surgery-bed managers...ggrr!!
Knees are aching a bit today. For those that don't know, I used to get arthritic type aches in my knee joints and sometimes in my knuckles.Although never massively overweight (16/18 at my largest), my Drs just iterated the fact that I was a bit of a porky. I struggled with steps/stairs with the ache. I went back to the Drs who checked my Rheumatoid factor which was absolutely fine as I knew.
Upon starting my new post, I was chatting with a new colleague about it who mentioned that tomatoes may be the cause and as I was on a mission to lose weight, was having it in salads each lunch and following a lot of Slimming World recipes was eating a lot of tomato and tomato based products (most of their recipes have tomato in it, have a look, you will see).
I eliminated tomato from my diet (you would be surprised how much things you eat have tomato in it without thinking about it).Anyway, I did this for a month and had no aches (still extremely clicky knees but think that is the bain of most of my jobs).Accidently I had tomatoes again and there was the ache-hey presto, problem solved.
I read that it was to do with nightshade vegetables, although I seem fine with all others.
So, back to today, no tomatoes eaten but still achy like I had eaten them.Hopefully it was just the busy day that did it as I like my cycling and am building my running up and enjoy it.I do treadmill running as that is gentler and my joints feel so much better and lovely and warm after.
I am coming up for my challenge soon.Must write my list soon.

Good luck! I wish I could run. Running is just too hard on my knees! Thank goodness for my elliptical. What challenge are you going to do?

had to rest my knees for ages before i could slowly build it up but realised resting too long resulted in them seizing and stiffening more.had to get some decent running trainers and treadmill run not road run as that IS too hard on my joints.i will send you an invite to the challenge tomorrow eve after work so you can have a look..a gentle one for my first.invited by another buddie.I will pop some of my fave low fat recipes in the cook book also.
