Hi all! Just want to record some more thoughts since everyone is always so encouraging and helpful.
This morning I was sick as if I had gotten some gluten into my diet. When that happens I always feel kind of down, since it means all my good, healthy food is just ejected. But I wanted to share that being Celiac and having to live gluten free, means I can't eat lots of things that ordinarily trip people up, like anything baked with wheat flour and that means pizza and nummy sammiches and everything. That is not to say I can't have gluten free items of these same types of foods. I do. But I do watch out even then because anything that is refined, you know, manufactured, ground and processed and placed in a box...that kind of food, can be stuff that will be weight gaining material. Eating more naturally, that is ripe, fresh food from nature, or minimally packaged and processed meats and eggs...all these types of foods are what this good Earth gave us to sustain our bodies.
I know I have to start eating a more diverse diet, that would include brown rice or anything that is relatively more healthy in terms of carbs. I'll never go back to sweets of any kind, since I just don't crave them. I did have some real gelato recently and although it didn't bother my diet at all, I did notice about an hour after I ate it I was ravenous! I felt ill and so hungry I could eat anything! But I didn't. It was the sugar. So I realized how dangerous sugar can be. Its like a drug.
