Ran in my second ever 5K on Turkey Day and, while my time has not improved any, my stamina definitely has! It was so rewarding to make it to the finish line and not be totally wiped out! I even forgot to do the last little sprint to the finish line because i hadn't realized that i had jogged for 3 miles and the end came up too fast! I was a little worried about this one because when i woke up the thermometer said that it was about 40 degrees out and while waiting for the race to start it was raining pretty hard. I "warmed up" in my car until the last 10 minutes before the race started watching the rain, and then sleet, fall. It let up a little bit before the race and almost stopped all the way while we were running. Luckily i had a baseball cap in my car. :) Even so, being super cold, not realizing the race had started and starting about a minute later along with the rest of the back of the pack, and sloshing through puddles was a great way to start out Thanksgiving. I finished with a time of 37:29 (which is probably more since i started late) and had an absolutely great time chanting "apple pie" with the other racers. :)
How was you Turkey Day?

WOW!!! There's a big part of me inside that really wish I could've joined you. What an awesome day you had! Congrad's on your increase in stamina, Betsy and yes, in spite of spending the day alone, I had a very pleasant turkey day. I still have some leftovers and they're all for me. BWAHAHAHA! {{{hugs}}}
