Just Do It!.......Nike love ever since I hard their slogan....Towanda!!!! 

I need to invest in a good pair of sneakers. Where is a good place to go, is Payless a good idea? I have a blister on a toe probably cheap shoes aren't helping that much! Happy New Year 2011, Cindy! :) 

Payless is a good place if you don't have a wide foot. Actually Walmart had some sneakers on sale for $10. If you have a little more money I'd go to a shoe store like Shoe Carnival or some place like that. Usually if you buy more than one pair of shoes you can get a discount. My husband and I usually buy our shoes together so that we can save money. This time of year alot of the stores are trying to get rid of last year's inventory too. Hope that the blister on your toe gets better soon my friend. Happy New Year Glenn! 

Hi Cindy. Thanks for accepting my buddy invite. Unfortunately, I really need very good shoes for support. My current pair cost nearly $100 bucks. I didn't want to spend that much, and really couldn't afford it, but they do help me walk better. And then I have to buy support inserts to put in them too. More money!!! But as I use a cane or walker for walking, I can't cheat on good shoes. I need all the help I can get, LOL! 

I have a wide foot, it seems 12 is too small and 13 too big, so I must go somewhere to get fitted. I looked up on the Internet what to do and it said leave it open to air all the time when one is home. I don't like walking around barefoot in my apartment but at this point have no choice... There is no Shoe Carnival here in this area... We don't have many places the rest of the country does here... 

Actually got one pair of shoes on ebay for $100 bucks and put $50 inserts in them. I have had heal spurs and need to protect my back. My grandmother always taught all her kids and me too that you only in one pair of feet in this lifetime and to take care of them. She died when I was nine of diabetes complications in 1968. I still miss her vary much. That was how long ago? Some people make such an inprint on our lives that they can never be forgotten. She was basically my mother, as my mother abandoned me and my dad's mom wound up having to raise me. She is the one that taught me unconditional love. She was one amazing woman to have raised a child in her condition. She died in her 60's. I then went to live with my dad and step mother after she died. Not a good placement. However, nobody knew that things would be as bad as they were. Something I have given to God. I chose to forgive all of them but not have a relationship. It was one of the best decisons I ever made. No regrets. 

Cindy she made you who you are today, the kind, thoughtful,loving and caring person that I know. Love ya and I am glad I have gotten to know you......Bren  

Hi Cindy - things happen that just make us stronger adults. Anyway, my friend suggested a store to go to, so I will likely go there and get extra wide shoes or one size up if I really have to do so... 

Thanks Bren. Was feeling a little melencoly for a moment. You are really a great friend and I'm glad to have gotten to know you too. Some day it would be great to meet in person if God wills it. Glenn I'm glad that your friend suggested a store for you to go to. Sorry I wasn't much help. Hope your blister gets better soon. 

Cindy, your grandmother must have been one wonderful woman to have raised you for such a short time, and yet made you into the beautiful woman you are today. I know what you mean about giving things to God, and forgiving. It is difficult sometimes, but is always the right thing to do for our own psyches! Glenn, good luck with the shoe shopping...I have a wide foot also and have an awful time finding shoes that are comfortable. However, I did but a pair of Sketchers Shape Ups, and have been absolutely delighted with them.

Thanks again for the suggestions... I did go to WalMart and got a pair of shoes there about a week ago, though often they are missing the half-size shoes. I may go buy a pair of utility-type shoes - they're sort of like sneakers, but a bit nicer. My blister is healing as I have my socks off at my apartment. I also was close to both my grandmothers, I was visiting them or calling them when my sisters and cousins were a bit too busy so I was the grandchild closest to both of them...  

Grandmas are very special people. Or at least some grandmas. My other grandma was an alcoholic and never offered my mother to raise me. I'm glad now that she didn't. She has now passed on. She did at least send me a Christmas card every year when I was older. She had 4 kids of her own and several grandchildren. Don't think that any of them were that close to her because she was in the bar most of the time. She had to pay one of them in the end to take care of her and my cousin didn't really take that good care of her. I do believe that family should take care of family. I took care of my husbands folks when they got up in age. Both of them are in heaven now too. So glad that your blister is getting some air to heal. The utility shoes sound great.  

It is good you had one decent relative... if you dig deep enough most families have trouble in them somewhere. Some people are just not made to be parents too... have a great week ahead!
