goooooood morning everyone.....its friday..right!!!..but still nippy outside...but weather man has said its gonna get warmer...and thats all i needed to hear..i been thinkin about something from yesterdays journaling...and i thought mabye today i would talk about it...when i journal about what i do as for exercise its so that if i need to look bck an motivate myslf thats why i put how long i walked or what i did for the day...its not to make anyone starting out with exercise feel bad cause they cant do the same amount...we all exercise at different paces...ive built up to what i do now..when i first started walking...i could only do 5-10 minutes an i would just be wore out...but as you exercise more you build your body up, you challenge your body to do more..and even though it looks like i do alot, there are others on here that out do me when it comes to exercise...makes me wish i could do what they do for a workout...but i kno they have done it longer then me an that some day i will accomplish that as well...so its not about how long you do an exercise, its about you tryin to do what ever exercise you can do and adding to it each time to build up the muscles and to challenge your body...to keep makin a habit or a routine out of the exercise your doing ...to find an exercise you enjoy doing and at the same time to keep changing exercises occasionally so that you dont get into a habit of doing the same ones..and to get a healthier body then you once had...but along with the exercise you also have to learn to eat right as well..it all goes together..even after you get to that ideal weight, exercise and eating right will be a part of your daily life...other wise you will become what you once was a couch potatoe....or thats my thougths on it...ive been doing floor exercises as my weights are outside in a building...but once it warms up again tomow, i will be bringing part of them inside to use for when im not able to get outside an get my walking in...soooooo...hope you all have a great friday...keep challenging that body!!!...your body likes a challenge...

Wise words this morning, twin! I think a lot of people give up on exercise because they try to do TOO much TOO soon. It's smart to start at your own pace and work up to more. Have a great day!

I love re-reading your goals! Number 3 is one I must work on today. Number 7 is a great idea but for us coffee drinkers, meeting that goal sort of spoils the delicious taste of our coffee! Are you a coffee drinker? Maybe not. A nice hot coffee feels good on a frigid morning like today!

Thank you for the insight over on my journal. You are so right about my husband's hard work. I left a little note for you there on my journal this morning. Would you like a refill on your Folgers? Remember! "The best part of waking up is Folgers in your cup!" He-he-he-he-he-he-he-he!

What you said about exercise is very true. First off, one needs to exercise AND eat well in order to lose weight. I'm proof of that because I've been treadmilling daily for at least ten years, but the eating has gotten me up to the highest weight I had ever been. Also, before I started walking, I was terribly out of shape. I was not a fit kid. I've been dieting since I was around ten, and I was always a chubby little girl. In high school I had a phys. ed. teacher write a note home to my parents about how worried he was for my health because I did absolutely no exercise, even in p.e., and I tried to get away with doing nothing. Well, on my own, when I was a young adult, I discovered walking. Outdoor walking to start. And it was tough at first! Then when I got married, we bought a treadmill. So I've been walking on it for years now. And I've had friends say, "how can you have a weight problem when you do so much exercise?" And I always say that I eat enough to compensate for any progress the treadmilling would have made. So there it is -- we need to find the happy medium. But one thing that's absolutely true, for me at least, is I feel a burst of energy and euphoria when I exercise. I always tell my kids that, when you exercise, it makes you feel better. I tell them that your body makes its own healthy, natural drug that gives you a great feeling. And my boys, who aren't big exercisers or athletes either, love that idea and have started loving exercise too. I just wish someone had told that to me when I was a kid, that once I got into it, I would feel so good!
