Last night I worked out for an hour on the elliptical my goal was to burn 800 calories and I burned 885 :) And I thought for sure this morning I'd wake up and see that reflected on my scale (despite my going into my flex pointes last night (for first time this week I went over my points))And no change still in the 312's.

I was going to do yoga this morning but I had some funny cramps in one of my shins and another nagging problem that is tmi. So I am going to take the day off, I think.

I don't know if this is just a stand still but, I am kind of frustrated. I guess that happens when you try and try and don't get what you want right away. The theme of most ordinary peoples life.

So my question of the day: How long have you tried and tried with diet and exercise and been at a standstill in weight? what are other things you try to get the scale to move? (besides standing on one foot? hehe)

I am wondering if it has anything to do with a higher tension (that's not the right word perhaps) on the elliptical. I notice the tops of my lower thighs burning a lot more than when I started. Maybe I am making muscle?

You are doing fine. Any time you raise your intensity and feel sore muscles, Your muscles will retain water to help them repair themselves (muslces get little tears when exercising hard). This can show up as no loss or even a gain on the scale. It is not a real gain, only temporary. It takes time to see the results of exercise. Your chart is great. You are losing consistently. No one is going to lose every day. Some weeks will be higher than others. Just have patience and keep doing what you are doing.

Great job!!! You're doing amazing, just keep pushing along! I've been plugging away with weight watchers this time since October and have only lost 12 lbs. total, but I do have to remember that I was sick from November-January and did a lot of emotional eating (DRs. couldn't figure out what was wrong with me and were diagnosing me with different cancers, diseases, etc. only to find out it was my ears). I initially gained the weight Senior year in High school and have been trying since then, at least 8 years, to lose it.

Thanks you guys. I am impatient and when I feel like I am giving effort I want results. So I just need to know more patience. And Angie--I am not sure how I do it. The first time I got On an elliptical (February 3rd i believe--5 minutes was the best I could the bottoms of my feet were falling asleep so I would have to shake out my legs every couple of minutes--but then the next day I went I could do 15 minutes--and then the next day 30 minutes (i discoverd chaning the intensity helped--because otherwise I had to always be moving pretty quickly) then the next week I went every other day at 30 minutes. And it isnt that I don't stop at all--I do to shake the burn out of my legs but I just make myself keep going--It hurts sometimes but I havent had any "Oh no this hurts too much" yet--I just try to listen to my body and tell myself i can do more. The problem I am having now is that my heart rate is supposed to be 135-165 I think for my age to maximize my work out--and my heart is getting very used to working out so I feel like I have to push harder than I did the first couple of weeks. But that's good too because that means my heart is getting healthier--I think. I hope something helped there.
