I wasn't going to submit a journal today, but I just saw something in the recipes section that chaps my @$$. In searching for tonight's dinner and I came across a recipe that was rated 1-star because they thought 7 PointsPlus is "too expensive" for Weight Watchers.

Whatever my feelings on the point value of a recipe, this bothers me because the individual did not mention how the dish tasted!!! It's fairly obvious if a recipe is even remotely compatable with one's lifestyle. I just don't see much value to others in rating a recipe if I haven't tried it. I have rated at least 2 recipes low-moderate myself, but it had everthing to do with my enjoyment of the dish. This is like someone who follows a low carb lifestyle rating every pasta dish negatively just because it included a piece of penne. Not to mention, fat and cals in this particular dish can be cut down quite easily (as is the case with many dishes) by halving the EVOO.

This only partially bothered me. What got me to write a journal was when I clicked on the person's profile. Their last activity was exactly one day after their first activity...TWO MONTHS AGO!!!

Okay, I'm better now. I realize that this is a free site and not everyone is as dedicated to their health goals as others. Anyway, even though this is a little ranty, I hope you can see some humor in my fustration (In hindsight, I can).

Have an nice week, FS Community...

I have to agree.. I HATE when people rate it low because of something like calories or carbs or points or w/e... I want to know if it friggen tastes good, I can change the calorie count in anything I make by substituting things out for lower calorie options.

I agree! I also like to know if the recipe just didn't work, like if the proportions were off or something. By the way CMR, I cruise your food journal all the time looking for good stuff to make and have saved alot of your dinners to my custom meals!

My pleasure, Babs. I've given up on trying to publish recipes, as 2 have been awaiting approval for almost 3 months. However, if I tell you the source of the recipe, they are nothing a quick Interweb search can't find. Have a nice night, Babs.

CMR I have given up on trying to publish them too. I have a bunch I submitted when I started here 7 mths ago and no luck, even though nothing like them in the recipe book so far. I am tired of seeing the same old stuff when I search for something. I do use alot of outside sources as well and usually just copy them in here as my own Bab's blah blah blah... thanks for sharing my friend!

Hi CMR, sorry I haven't been around to say hello but you know that I have been out of Dodge. Any way I a gree with you. We need to be able to make up our own minds about a food. Most people like garlic and I do not. so I Leave it out or use alot less of it. Have a good evening...Bren
