I was on a plant based diet for a couple of years then tried low carb for 15 months. I lost more weight on WFPB no oil diet that I'm currently doing and feeling better, can eat lots of food and a big variety of fruits, veggies, beans and starches but staying away from highly processed foods including any oils as much as possible. I think when I was on low carb it helped get my insulin resistance in check and changing to whole food plant based no oil diet is helping with other issues like hypertension and overcoming obesity. I believe that staying on each diet for long term helped to get benefits from both diets. However on WFPB I feel better and as a volume eater I can eat more and still lose weight.
