KGB22 -- the scale has what's known as a tare weight function. I had the seitan and edamame already on the plate, hit the button to reset it, and it zeroed out the weight of the plate and what was on it. Then, when I added the broccoli, it just showed the weight of the broccoli. No calculations required on my part. Any decent kitchen food scale should be able to do that

Broccoli is so filling to me and you can eat high volume for a little amount of calories, which is nice. It’s also a power food packed w great nutrients. Cruciferous vegetables are the best!! Everything on your plate is great!! But I add a fat to my broccoli to also help w feeling satiated.
I keep meaning to try seitan.

Stormsgirl -- the edamame actually has about 5 grams of fat in it. Plus, all that protein and fiber. My general strategy of remaining satiated relies more on fiber than anything else

Seitan is a vegetarian meat substitute made out of gluten. Very high protein, very low fat. To my tastes, it feels like it has the meatiest texture of the more traditional, less processed meat substitutes

Yes!! Seitan is pretty delish!! I used to make it all the time! I used to mix different "smoke" flavorings in mine, tasted great.

Chancebike -- I made a big batch of Italian sausage seasoning, so for some batches, I just throw some of that in. Great on pizza or pasta! I also use it in a vegan zuppa Toscana I make sometimes
