Lighter a bit later on. Getting those last few hours of sleep does make a difference :-) So today we'll try for rather more protein than fat and see if tomorrow I'm not yet lighter. Then it's Carb Nite! again so we reset again but this time I'll be lighter on the fat and heavier on the protein from the off.

@I will win, Was that comment targeted at me? I have consistently lost 0.5kg per week for the last two months. In what way is that Yo-Yo weight loss? In January I was on an alternate day fasting diet, that means every other day I was not eating. 36 hours without food takes a lot of will power. But I think you are wrong about that, its not all about will power. If it were all about will power you could just starve yourself or go on a diet of lemon juice and maple syrup (the ridiculous master cleanse diet) not very healthy.

Oh Giles come on now you can be so sensitive at times. Use your head man, if you are losing constantly how can my comment apply to you ?. You know the saying Giles…”if the cap fits etc”

Giles, In support of my comment regarding “Will Power” if you read some of the posts on FS you will see so many are reporting failure in one way or another. You will also see the failure is due to eating or drinking something or other at some point attending a party or just having a binge even. Surely, if that person had more “strong will power” this would not happen. I, like you, am guilty of the same sin, in the past I failed with “Will Power” and put on so much weight it was incredible. I could make excuses for putting the weight on but in the end they are only excuses and it was me who put the food in my orifice nobody else. Remember it was you who told me that your weight increase was due to your visits to fast food places which can only mean you knew you were doing wrong but failed to have the will power to not do it. Now you pay the price just like me. I would explain another point here Giles. It is not a crime to be lacking strength of will power this is mother nature doing her thing. So many people think it is a failure when it is only a natural thing in life you have it or you don’t simple as that. I stand by my claim if we all had super strong will power losing weight would be so easy but the truth is we would not need to lose weight in the first place would we because our will power would stop us eating the wrong food. One more point I would make. I am fully entitled to my opinion which you do not have to agree with but it remains my opinion.

@I will win. What happened, happened. We put on weight that's why we are here, lets not dwell. Maybe lack of will power, maybe excuses we made to ourselves, or maybe just not caring about it. Either way that's in the past. I agree with your points though, will power can help you achieve any goal. All I really wanted to say that its not ALL about will power, and smart dietary choices can mean that someone with weaker will power can have more chance of success. For example filling yourself up with low calorie fibre salad before your main meal, can make you feel full and then you tend to choose to eat a smaller portion for your main meal. My Inner Ancestor is musing on the subject of will power. On the one hand, she had a lot, she had to have to survive in the harsh conditions. On the other hand, willpower went out of the window when a sweet temptation came along, perhaps in the shape of a bee's nest or a fruity windfall. The difference is in her time, she could cave in to the temptations because they wouldn't last very long, it may be another season before they crossed her path again. So perhaps willpower where food was concerned, was not high on the agenda in terms of human survival. Our modern society has upset the balance with the every minute, every hour, every year access to foods which hit all the right buttons in our brains pleasure centre but usually press the wrong ones where health is concerned. So, if you have the iron willpower of @I will win - and I do think it's that, I couldn't survive on your RDI, then go for it. But I am in agreement with @Giles, willpower alone is too simplistic for the obesity levels we have today. And no, I don't hold myself up to be an expert but I do descend from my Inner Ancestor who loved a good discussion. She probably would have been clubbed over the head a few times from hairy males sitting around chewing the fat!

Haha I love it @Glennith, that's really lightened the tone, I am off to the forest with my club to see if I can't find a bee's nest to knock down ;)
