Breakfast. Natural ground peanut butter on homemade part whole grain sourdough, topped with chia; blackberries, half a banana, and tea steeped in unsweetened soymilk. My days usually start well but fall apart at work. Wish me luck.

I love blackberries and hubby loved bananas. We both love peanut butter, chias, and sourdough but I am not allowed much bread. Good luck at work!

Thanks, lydium! FoodyDuty -- so far, so good at work. Fingers crossed. Morticia -- I could seriously not live without my bread, but I do know well enough these days not to utterly gorge on it. ;)

The color coordination with the blackberries, mug and seeds is everything. Looks delicious

Nice breakfast!! At first, treats at work were hard to ignore, but now it’s easier…a habit now…because the treats there are usually so sugary and I know for me it’s just not worth it anymore. Sometimes if I know its “donut” day at work, I’ll make one of my healthy desserts to treat myself so I don’t feel deprived! Lol

Your breakfast looks delicious! I know what you mean by starting your day with good healthy meals…only to get sidetracked during the day. You got this.

Those blackberries look wonderful! Probably my favorite fruit this summer

Well, you are certainly starting out healthy! I'm so glad you can handle the bread. When you get old like me, not so much. Yes, I'm older than the hills, and I can't lose weight without limiting carbs.

StormsGirl -- wish I could get to that point at work. This time, I got snared by my own snacks -- stuff I brought in to kick off Fat Bear Week. Oh, well. Reeled in dinner a bit and was fine. The stress and fatigue at work are triggers for me. Since I don't limit carbs, less of a biggie for me

Fritzy -- I adore blackberries, and they're a great way to boost fiber. deb-- as you may have noted from my response to StormsGirl, I clearly did NOT have this 🤣 At least the bulk of my eating is reasonably healthy. Looking forward to retirement. At home, about as decadent as it gets is cacao nibs wrapped in a pitted Medjool date (which is OMG good!)

Snowwhite -- I doubt I'll ever give up bread, but I'm not as small as you and have more calories to play with. I seem to maintain just fine on a carb heavy diet. My natural eating habits seem to fall on the low fat side, and I don't try to get as much protein in as a lot of people do, so that's where the calories get limited. It's all about limiting calories somewhere. Maybe that will change as I get older, but when I tried to shift to a little more protein and fat, it got harder to maintain. I know limiting carbs works for a lot of people

does anyone deal with reactive hypoglycemia here? limiting carbs is not an option .. I've just been allowed to try carbs that are slower release with the caveat that if they are not working to revert back to fast release. when I had to go onto this diet for reactive hypoglycemia I gained 15lbs in 6 months...better than death or a heart attack or stroke. I also have food allergies (25 years) which likely helped to kick me into reactive hypoglycemia. I would welcome 💡 ideas. thank you

Wow, that sounds like a challenge, 6hearts. Are you working with a doctor and a registered dietician on this?
