Is he the same co-worker that kept the bowl of chocolates at his desk? His retirement might benefit both of you then. 😄 

He stopped doing that toward the end, but there are other candy sources 😜 I'm actually hopeful that now that we're no longer working as supervisor and employee that we can move on to become friends, because there's definitely a mutual respect and connection. He's promised to take me out for lunch at a good vegetarian/vegan restaurant to celebrate my retirement when it happens. On Tuesday, I'll be down to only 100 days! 

And he's not retiring -- he's moved on to other employment. A good move for him, so I'm happy for him 

Sounds like you two were a great team! You will be joining him in retirement soon.  

Yep, I'm retiring soon, Morticia! He's actually only in his 40s with a lot of career ahead of him, so he's taking a different job 

You got this. I start a new job Monday. Gonna start focusing on my health too.

Good luck with the new job, Darlene! Thanks! Yeah, I got this 😊 Ski season is starting, so I'm motivated. I ski cross country, and it's a lot easier climbing those hills when I'm lighter 

Thanks, Diana! I'm not too worried. I can work well with the interim, and I've heard through the grapevine there are some good people interested in the permanent position. Our agency director, who'll do the hiring, is sharp and has good judgment, so I trust her to make a good hire. And anyway, even if I got the worst boss on earth, I'd only have to put up with them until February 1 😉 

Time will fly by and you will soon be retired !!

Dang, so sad! My boss better stay or I am leaving!!! My dentist has retired, my beloved doctor retired, now even my dang mailman is retiring.😢😢😢😣 Going for donuts!😁

Shrewdness -- a good boss makes all the difference, don't they? I'm just hoping my kind young dentist I love is young enough that I won't have to find another before I die 😂

TJV -- 27 years. Wow! Hopefully he'll find, once he settles into his new retired life, that he enjoys it. I've honestly never understood people who wanted to keep working, but for me, my job was just a means of making the rest of my life possible. Change is hard, though.
