The trip to hell is over. I ate terribly the whole time but actually did okay in the weight department (compared to what I was expecting). I get my bike back today hopefully. Maybe I can find some motivation somewhere to get going again. I suppose tracking would be a good start.

Arrrgggg! The bike isn't ready yet. Some excuse about the parts not coming in yet. It may be getting time to find a new LBS.

Oh the horror!!! Seriously, don't they understand what is at stake here? After all, it's not like we are getting a long summer anyway!
Meanwhile I have an itch to buy a cross bike (tis the season and DH says I can't race his- nevermind that I am the only one who rides it and fixes it, and generally takes any love or pride in it...but whatever), and for some reason a TT bike is calling me too. It's a problem. Talking to the reps today to determine which model will best go with my eyes...er, I mean fit me best...yeah, that's it. LOL!!
Glad you survived your trip.
My bro and I did the epic 154 mile 13320 foot beast this weekend. Wouldn't have been so bad if the wind hadn't been fierce and ALWAYS in our faces. I'm not kidding, it was like a bad dream. We came down the highway, it was in our faces heading North, we did a 180 to head home (just the way the road turns)going South and the wind hit us in the face!!! I threw my hands up in the air. Un. Real.
This weekend is one of the old favorites. The lighthouse century ride on the coast. Flat and fast. Ahhhhhhhh.

Ouch, I had a both ways headwind ride earlier this year and it sucked. Sounds like you have bike acquisition fever. I find myself eying up new rides myself though I think I should be able to resist for a while unless a great deal comes along. You should consider adding a mountain bike to your stable if you don't already have one.

The bike is fixed! Well I have it back anyway. It seems good but I'll have to try it to make sure it's good. It better be good because I could have bought a halfway decent bike for what I paid to get it fixed. I've always admired the exotic European bike brands. I know that they aren't any better than what the big companies put out, but they just seem cooler. After dealing with this though, I think I'll stick to the nice big macro brands. Maybe a Trek or Specialized next time.

ahhh, peach descends upon the bike barn again. All of the beasties are home!! Hope it is working well for you. I did a small recovery ride last night. Didn't go far, but hit 40mph on the way home without a tail wind. Yeah, I'm excited to get a TT bike. :) Just got the info from the rep. Says a 50cm Kestrel 4000 would fit me perfectly. Pretty sic bike! Now, which bank to rob....
