Yay. Aside from tired you must feel great!

Thanks, ann! I think the best feeling was I rode better than I thought I would. 😊 Had to get over my initial fear.

So glad you’re back to it. It must be amazing exercise. I’m scared to ride a bike on level ground, don’t trust myself on two wheels.

thiccmami -- completely understandable. I've been pretty skittish about bicycles myself ever since I had that epic crash and injured my rotator cuff. I got off the bike and walked wherever I didn't think I could ride it safely

Getting back cycling for cardio too here lately. Great calorie burner!

OTB - I'm not generally adventurous enough to go, well, OTB. 😂Crashing hurts! Don't wanna!!

66Pack - any time I'm out in the woods, it's not cardio to me (even though it is). It's just fun 😊

I’ve been wanting to invest in a bike 🚲 but for now, my cardio is still walking. When I was a kid, we ALL had bikes, roller skates, jump ropes, and ice skates. (Grew up in Iowa).

We all did, too, StormsGirl. And no video games, although I'm sure I spent too much time in front of the TV. My family didn't believe in bicycle training wheels. I learned to ride a bike by crashing a lot 🤣

Thanks, liv! 😃 Alas, no mountain biking this weekend. My husband is recovering from a minor medical procedure yesterday and is laying low. Tomorrow, I'll be reconnecting with an old high school friend who's visiting family near here. Perhaps sometime next week

I could not do it. I would worry about my balance ability. I do road biking though. But it has been so cold I have not been out yet.

I used to do a lot of road biking, liv. (All-time record for me was 89.5 miles in a day, though I never completed a Century.) I have crappy balance these days, prone to dizziness, and I've never been able to hold a line as well as I should on a bike. If you ever do decide to try mountain biking, just stick to the easier trails and get off and walk anything that you think may be beyond your ability. I walk my bike a LOT. And be sure to get a bike with shocks on it. I couldn't believe the difference when I started riding one, and couldn't believe how much mountain biking I did in my younger days without them. My husband's advice, which has helped me, is to focus on the path you want to ride, and not the rock you want to avoid. Your bike will go where you're looking. I've also found that's a good advice for life in general -- focus on the path you want to follow, no matter how narrow, not the obstacles you're trying to avoid.
