Almost 2 hours mountain biking today. I'm a beginner, so I had to stop and walk the bike a lot. Was gaining confidence as the day wore on. Crashed once, but a soft landing. More of an intentional dive to avoid an unintentional one

Looks like fun! I used to ride a hybrid bike when I lived right by a,trail. I always used the paved trail, the dirt was too scary. But i would run on the dirt trail. It was so nice to be in good shape!

Fritzy -- the dirt scares me, too, but it's kind of a fun challenge. Any time you're out on a bike, it's good, pavement OR dirt. I haven't been riding a lot the last couple of years, so I need to get out on our bike path and tune up my steering skills, which are suspect. My husband gave me great advice once: if the trail is narrow, and you're dodging rocks, focus only on the narrow way through rather than the rocks you want to avoid. You will go where your focus goes. It's great advice for navigating life in general as well

I did, Morticia! Thanks! Diana and danana -- the fall truly wasn't a big deal. I was going slow, the area was rutted, but not Rocky, and I was able to fall in a controlled fashion. It's kind of par for the course to fall here and there if you mountain bike
