I always weigh everyday. It helps me feel in control and accountable. I record my weight in a manual journal and average every 25 days. That way I keep perspective when I gain a little here or there.

I weigh in once a week, but sometimes I can't wait and weigh daily and get depressed when my weight increase instead of decrease, so I try not to do that. Once a week is fine for me

I weigh myself way to much but it helps me to keep things in check

I am also weighing myself daily. I find it interesting what foods/caloric intake make for small increases. I'm trying not to trip on those increases though. I do love tracking it and have found that almost hands down...every time I stick with my caloric intake, I do go down. I am also more focused on making sure I have a caloric deficit between my food intake and my exercise. I am with KP and do take an average for better perspective.

I weigh daily, but in working with a weight mgt coach, she recommended only weighing weekly. She said it depends on your own personality. Everyone will lose a little or gain a little, there will be fluctuations on a daily basis. If you can tolerate those, then weighing daily is ok. If you get discouraged if you gain a pound or two based on what you ate the day before, then you should not weigh daily. For me, my tolerance level is about a pound. If I gain more than that, I will kick things into high gear for a few days. But I also don't see more than 0.2 or 0.4 pounds lost each day. I should also say that I am trying to lose weight slowly - about a pound a week.

oh, I would add that my weight mgt coach also said that you should pay attention to the overall trend, and not just this week's change. If the overall trend is a decrease, then you're doing fine! So I also agree that taking an average over a certain period of time is the right way to go!

I weigh daily also, and don't worry too much about the little daily rises and falls. When it goes up, it just motivates me more to be diligent that day. I'm afraid if I waited a whole week to weigh, there might be too much of a gain that would be that much harder to tackle.

Daily, because lose or gain, it gives me incentive to stay on track.

I use to weigh daily, but it isn't working for me. If I lost, I'd reward myself, and if I gained I'd give up, saying "why bother". I'm going to try a weekly weigh in. Maybe I won't do so much damage. I'll keep you posted. Have a good day & good health to you all.

GOOGLE an article titled, "Why the Scale Lies" - I weigh daily but take an average of the weights about every 10 days...much more accurate, Just look for a downward trend

I am only weighing once a week right now Kathleen..and not really having to diet as I am not eating much due to Moms illness. Anyway..when or if I can get back to it, I will still only weight once a week. It is too much for me to watch that scale everyday.
