well; i watched a bunch of youtube webcasts on intermittant fasting. very interesting ; jason fung md. made a lot of interesting points. i've been in ketosis for a long time , no problem. but they made IF sound like a kind of detox. and how great one would feel after 12-16 hrs. so i'm trying it. my last food was betweenn 11:00 and noon ; so lets see how long i can go with only water, broath, and tea. i'd like to experience that euphoria/ clearity that some discribe. anyone have some input???
don't quite understand: i know how dieting slows the metabolism over time , that is why people gain the weight back so easily does IF have an effect on the metabolism too.

I'm reading his book The Obesity code right now Kathleen, so i understand, when we reduce calories alone, the body slows down the metabolism in an effort to regain the weight we are losing by the reduced calories, but when we fast (no food in) the body speeds up metabolism in order for us to hunt for food it does not slow things down. Otherwise, humans would not have made it through their first winter. The book is available on Kindle at Amazon, so far it has been a pretty good read.
