What are you thankful for today?

Family? Friends? Your ability to make someone smile? The animal(s) you look after? That friend you can always count on rain or shine? Waking up this morning? That blooming flower you've tried so hard to keep alive? The fact that despite all the stress in your life, you STILL keep moving on?

What drives you?

Challenges? Helping others? Artistic ability? Purpose?

Who ARE you?

Forgiving? Loving? Kindhearted? Honest? Authentic? Caring? Understanding? Compassionate? Considerate?

I challenge you today to look beyond the problems staring you in the face and think about how you can leverage your strengths to overcome the difficulties in your life. We all have issues, some more challenging than others, but dwelling on them will only keep us there. Instead, let's talk solutions and use that as a springboard for getting out of the rut.

You're not going to believe this, but I almost put this quote on my journal this morning. May I say it again, great minds think alike :)

Wow, now that is thoughtful and provocative. But I have a more unique problem, or so I would like to believe. How do I motivate my mind, to get my tiring body, to do some of the activity, that I once took pride in? I try and inspire my mind, to inspire my body. Lately, my attitude has been waning, let's call it laziness, and my body needs to be pushed. I will try and get to the gym today, and assess the correlation between my mind and my body.

@Sugar Waffle - that's awesome! I stumbled across this quote today and thought about how profound it was! @warrenwinter - That is a tough one for sure especially if you have such a unique situation that it's hard to time people who can relate to what you are going through. Do you happen to journal your thoughts? I've done that in the past and would like to get back into it because I have experienced how refreshing and revitalizing it was to write down all my thoughts and feelings. There's something about venting through journaling that I can't explain, but it helped me when I lost my brother and no one (not even the autopsy report) knew why. One of my counselors even suggested writing the things you don't like about your life and then tossing it into the fireplace to symbolize a new beginning. I've never tried that, but it seems to work for some. Regarding the gym, that's always been a struggle for me. Every time I join a gym I have high hopes only for real life to get in the way to where the gym becomes a chore, just one more thing on my never ending pile of things to do. Eventually, I learned that no matter how much I wanted to lose weight, I am just not a gym person. So now, I exercise in other ways like walk to the grocery store instead of drive, find the longest path to where I'm going that involves steps instead of elevators. Anything I can do to add more steps is what I focus on now. But this took a least a year for me to realize. It involved a deep look inside myself. Not everyone is a gym person, if that's something that you're struggling with, what ways can you still get in a good exercise routine without it? Just something to ponder. You are in my thoughts. :)

<3 this, definitely needed to hear this today. I have a million things going on, and some problems that seem impossible right now. Focusing on the positive!

@Panigale1199 - LOVE your energy! I especially love your comment about being a better version of yourself today then you were. I know a lot of people (myself included) like to compare ourselves to others successes, but instead, if we compared ourselves with ourselves, I think we'll learn to be proud of where we are. Not everyone's metabolism is the same and our bodies respond in different ways to food/exercise/etc. Some people drop weight really easily and others, not so much. This is why it's so important to not compare ourselves with others. Thanks for the reminder!

Wow, FatSwatter! You remind me of my wife, who says 1001 words for each word of mine. Then she will test me on what was spoken. lol I always fail the test, and then anger comes next. lol

@notelaine - That's awesome! I have felt similarly when I've read several posts this morning. It's like the posts were meant for my eyes at that moment. :) Glad to help! @debrafrederick - No problem! Glad to help :) @warrenwinter - HAHA! How funny. At least this was only 303 words instead of 1,000, although I have been known to talk one's ear off. :P @Steven Lloyd - Thanks! I wish the same for you too! Mondays are always rough for me so I thought I'd kick start it with a bit of positivism. :)
