Okay, so I was watching X-Weighted and they were talking about "Near Goal Syndrome". They described it as after you start losing weight, you lose like 20 pounds, feel so much better than when you were at your highest weight, and then lose motivation.

I was thinking that might be me. I'm feeling soooooooooooo happy at 255. It's an absurd comment, because I am still overweight, well, according to my BMI, morbidly obese and yet I feel great?!

It must be all relative. I used to feel crappy and HUGE all the time. I'm still in plus sizes, but they're much smaller plus sizes. For example, I bought 2 adorable work jackets at Laura Plus, and they were an 18!!! Seriously!

I need to remember that 255 is not a healthy weight, and while I am absolutely cute in my new clothes, I'm still at an unhealthy weight, and I still have work to do!

Just keep thinking of how GREAT you'd feel in a 14! I still remember how I felt in a size 7 ... and I'm longing for that feeling!

great post. LOL. I, on the other hand, can't believe how fat I am and can't wait to lose the next 60 lbs (AND it's going so slowly.)

I think another aspect of my challenge is that I was never a size 7 - well, maybe in elementary school. It was so long ago, that I was playing with barbies - and who in the world cares what size your clothes are when you're trying to set up the barbie house and play with friends?! Anyways, sufficed to say, I don't remember being that small and feeling small, so it's not something I can look forward to, because I don't even know what that looks like! So it's hard to long for something you don't know what it is!

And Heather - you are tiny! You're so tall compared to me, and you're much lighter (well especially considering all the lifting you've been doing)!!

Brandy, I understand where you are at, when people say I don't need to lose any weight, the thing is yes I am a lot smaller than I was but omg I am still a fat person, just not as fat as I was.......I was talking about that at lunch today with a FS buddy today and she feels the same. It would be easy to just stay where we are, but we have to keep moving forward, just getting healthier and healthier. I think it is definitely a feeling we all get. But have to keep on track.....to that skinny person we can all be.

I'm the lightest I've been since 1992. I'm still 80 lbs overweight. Most of the people around me (some of whom are as overweight as I was and more) are saying, "You'll be way to small at 125 lbs!" But, the fact is, I was 110 when I was 24 (and some considered me hefty then), so 125 allows for my frame shrinking and the excess skin I will have left. I'm only 5'2" and getting shorter every year. I also need a kick in the pants to get back on track. I've been coasting all summer and fall.

I have gotten in that mode before, and it is a hard one to get out of. Just keep striving for your goal, keep with the habits you have learned over the last while, and you will still lose more. I know even if I lose all the weight I want to, I do not think I will ever be out of the plus sized department. At my smallest I was between an X-large, and a 1X at Zellers. I remind myself, that if I was a size 7 I would probably be dead. My frame was just not made to support that small of a size. We are who we are, and right now just trying to become a healthier us. You are still an inspiration for me, and I rear your journals for motivation.
