FatSecret is trying to get users to photograph their food with the app. It appears to be part of a project FS is working on to somehow get the site to eventually recognize and log food through photos, so users of the future won't have to type in what they ate. It seems the food photos are being displayed more prominently in the "Featured" journals feed, and I'm guessing that's to encourage users to upload more photos and accompanying food log entries in order to provide more data to the project developers.

using just photos? kind of reminds me of elementary schools not teaching cursive writing..I myself like to know what 1/4 cup cals are and yeah what they look like, but not just pics? I guess I'm old fashioned.

FatSecret works as a food journal. If you don't like pictures, go away. People use FS to keep better in mind what they eat during 24h. What's your problem?
This community is not supportive at all. If you feel tempted by food, don't pay internet for the next months. Jeez.

food pics are ok I enjoy seeing them .What is irritating is when the same foods keep coming up at the top again and again.Some from two months ago.

Love the pics. I get ideas for new meals and see lots of new ways to prepare healthy foods. Old pics get bumped to the top again if they receive more connents.

I don't mind the pics but I wish people would put what the food is. sometimes I can't tell....or like a smoothie, what's in it? I also liked it better when the pics were smaller (FS take note!)

Old pics are also getting bumped to the top in the Featured feed without new comments. It's a new feature!

I agree with RcKc, the pictures are way too big and take up a lot of space. I have asked several posters what is it that they were eating and no response.

boy, eliseday, rude much?? I just asked because it seems like all of a sudden FS is inundated with pics of food... - I agree with some of the comments that I'd like to know WHAT it is, ingredients, nutrition info...not just the pic - you don't like my comments, YOU go away...JEEZ............

@VJ, another user posted that FS support had advised they're tinkering with the presentation in the Featured feed. I double checked before I made that post earlier today. Old posts without new comments were hanging around towards the top of my page. It might depend on how (browser/phone/tablet type and version) you're accessing the feed and might even differ by user. It can definitely differ based upon whether you have selected to see the Featured feed or the Everyone feed.
