The last two days have been very hectic! My poor dog Mishka has a bad injury. The xrays she had taken on Monday showed it is a ruptured Cruciate ligament and she needs an operation. She has not been walking on it and is booked in to have the operation on Monday.
I have completed my night shifts and didn't sleep well with worrying about Mishka and the ward being so heavy/busy at the moment, so I feel exhausted. My other bad news is that we will no longer be able to go on our holiday at the beginning of May as Mishka won't be fit enough to go on the holiday by then, her recovery will take up to 12 weeks. So we now have to cancel, but hopefully we can book something later in the year. Getting Mishka through the next 12 weeks will be hard as she is a very active dog. Ah well not a lot I can do, we will get through this eventually. Mishka will have to go on a calorie restriction too, or she will be putting on weight.

So sorry to hear about your Mishka, and such a shame to have to cancel your holiday. Sounds like the next 12 weeks are going to be very trying, but each week will be better than the last, so hang in there and rest when you can. Take care, Bowd x

So sorry B, it's devastating when one of our furry little friends is hurt/ill. Humph has insinuated himself very firmly into my life in a very short time, cunning devil (I couldn't deal with work stress without his ' lost wheel bearing' squeaky welcome at the end of the day! At least you will have a diet buddy living with you (slightly tarnished silver lining?). Hugs and ear scratches to you both x

Thanks ST, I have been on a lurcher forum and got lots of tips on how to manage Mishka post op and for the next 12 weeks, so I am feeling much better. She is like having another child around.
I will get back into losing my weight after her operation next week, I haven't gained any so that is a bonus!

Poor Mishka 😞 Pain, being immobilised, and she won't like having her rations cut, will she? I guess she'll want lots of cuddles. What a shame you have to cancel your holiday, too 😞 Sending hugs, Debbie, and best wishes to Mishka for a speedy recovery.
