I don't understand how a recipe I have for Broccoli Crunch Salad says that per serving it is 6 g carb, 2 g fiber, and 4 g net carbs. But when I enter the recipe into my cookbook on here it says that there is 16.72 carbs, 2.6 fiber, and so that would make 14.12 net carbs per serving. This is frustrating. I am trying to get more fiber, which I figured there would be in raw broccoli, but now according to my food calendar it makes it look like I have went way off on my net carbs for this meal. Everyone keeps saying to get more fiber. This one really throws me off. I don't think the cookbook calculated it right because I ate 1 cup of cooked broccoli the other night and the carbs weren't this high. I doubt that a serving of this salad would be much more than a cup. Frustrating. I'm eating it anyway because I already fixed it and I think it is lower carbs than what it shows.

What are the ingredients in the salad? That could be what is taken the carb count up so high.

Sounds like there is an issue with how you entered the recipe. Take a look at the serving quantities, make sure that you didn't enter something wrong (like a cup instead of an ounce)...I do that all the time and then freak out when my breakfast is 1,000 calories...doh...OK..so the issue is that you used the measurement of "bunch". Try to WEIGH everything. I'm guessing that a "bunch" is being counted as like 6 cups. If you didn't weigh it, estimate how many cups you ate...you will like the totals much better.

I think it must have to do with the term "bunch" also. I always thought a "bunch" was the whole bundle you buy at the store. I had already made the salad and was just entering in the recipe as I read it. So I didn't think about measuring it. Now that I re-read the recipe it just says 1 medium fresh broccoli or about 1 lb. But now I can't edit my recipe because it is in review. Should I delete it and try again? It is a really good recipe. It was a nice change instead of lettuce salad or just cooked broccoli.

Well actually I can't delete either while it is waiting approval. Maybe I'll just re-enter it just to see what I come up with.
