Diario de nino66, 13 feb. 10

I think I did well last night considering I was preparing gumbo, red beans and rice, and bread pudding for our Mardi Gras party tonight. I only taste tested with a small teaspoon and that was just the sauces, no rice. I did have 3 Michelob ultras though. They are lower carb but I know it put me over my daily limit. Tonight will be the real test. I have to set up the kitchen and serve all night. I have decided that I am going to try to eat one spoonful of each thing I like. I know that it will screw up my carb count but I figure if I just let myself have a little taste that is better than eating say a whole bowl of jambalaya (my favorite out of everything we are serving). I am going to stay away from the bread pudding though. Luckily I am only baking it. I have someone else in charge of serving the desserts. And I am always so busy that I usually don't eat alot anyway. I have my own meal made for me to eat when I have time so hopefully that will help too. I am going to try to drink rum and diet coke and stay away from the beer and hurricanes. This is a huge fundraising event for our organization for the last 7 years. I am looking forward to it and I don't really feel that worried about eating. I think I will be okay. I guess we'll see how it turns out by the end of the night. Also, a huge event going on here at work this morning and I managed to pass up the donuts and danishes again!!! I brought my MIM and I was fine with that. I am really proud of the resistance I have had. That is why I think I will be okay tonight. I have really done pretty well I think. I really feel good so I am going to keep that mind set going to keep me away from what I know I shouldn't have today. Luckily I don't have anything schedule in the near future that I think might tempt me. Sorry all for this being so long but I feel like if I write out my thoughts it will reinforce them in my mind and help me through. I guess that is what a journal is for anyway.
