I definitley think fasting right before indulging would backfire. Eat normally on Christmas Eve, eat what you want on Christmas Day, but watch your portions. Eat more of the protein and veggies and less of the sweets and starches and you will be satisfied with less, but still get to have what you want, and you should definitely be able to prevent gain by being extra good (eating healthy, not starving or fasting)the next day. Get rid of leftovers unless it allowed on your diet!!
