yes, they are different..... the carbs from fruits and veggies are bound with fiber so they take longer for your body to disassemble and use. Because the fiber slows the process these carbs don't affect your blood sugar as much or as rapidly (the concept behind food glycemic index).
How your body responds to each of these foods is unique so it's a matter of figuring out what your body can handle and minimizing intake of those foods your body struggles with.
Some veggies (usually root veggies) have a higher carb count and for me trigger a fruit response in my system ... so I avoid them.
Im, unfortunately, one of those people who struggles with carbs.......I love fruit.....but if I eat fruit (any fruit) It triggers sugar cravings and really high blood sugars....so I rarely eat fruit now. The nutrients available in the fruit are readily available in veggies I can eat without disastrous affects on my blood sugars, so I go that route.
