Diario de Peasy3, 14 feb. 18

Conversation with my hubby last night, as I was making macaroni salad (which I will eat none of) for Valentine's day luncheon at work today:

Me: "What did you have for lunch today?" - I don't know why I ask, I like to torture myself I guess.

Him: "A quesadilla."

Me: "A quesadilla today and pizza yesterday. That sounds so good. I miss that."

Him: "I know."

Me: "Getting into my bathing suit at Girl's weekend is going to feel so much better though!"

Him: "That's true!"

I came into work and there were donuts, chocolates, and cookies out for everyone. Thank goodness I have pretty much avoided that stuff since I was a teenager. I haven't had refined sugar in over a month, I can actually taste the sugar in bread. I can't imagine how overly sweet that junk food would taste right now.

I have found that I can taste the sugar in bread too!! Its crazy!! Good job staying away from the junk!! I know how hard that can be for me! Have a happy Valentines Day!!!

You have great will power! I miss certain foods too...the rewards of eating well take longer to realize but will be much more rewarding! (At least that’s what I keep telling myself haha)

I know how hard it is to stay on diet when it is you alone. My wife was not on diet the last time. It was torture. This time we are doing it together and it is much easier. Love dieting on the Buddy System.

I taste the sugar in everything now. The sweets would probably be system overload. I think our tastebuds change too. Whenever I plan to indulge it seems like I am disappointed in the taste but it could just be me🤔. Stay strong 💪🏼.

Thank you @diehard3 @PBenkert Me too. My husband says he is going to join me after he gets through a stressful project at work. I think that is an excuse but it's his life and I'm not a nagger. I am really hoping he joins me soon, it will definitely make it easier. @lilpurplebug I agree, fruit tastes much better now. you too! @8Patty Thank you, hugs!

Well done to you! That's showing amazing will power. I really too avoid all non-natural sugars and even fruit to an extent. I find that now I do that all the natural taste from vegetables, spices, herbs and condiments is tremendously heightened, flavour sensations are 100 fold better. Outing the sugar really adds to all other whole food flavours and good forbid I occasionally go for an orange.. it tastes like nectar.

I know @Bandaid, I totally agree. I stick to lower sugar fruits and mix them in with something sour. I bought a jug of organic pure maple syrup a couple of months ago and I looked at it last night wondering what on earth I am going to do with it.
