Woke up this morning down 5 pounds and had to call in my kid to read the scale for me to make sure I wasn't seeing things. I haven't really been dieting yet, just writing everything down and looking at serving sizes. Being aware of what I'm eating and trying to ask myself...is this worth the carbs you're adding to your daily totals??? My goal sheet had me starting at 80 carbs per day on my first run through. I was just guessing and wrote down things that would get me started to my eventual goals of 65-75g of protein and 30g of carbs. LOLOL! Boy was I ever wrong. I rarely am below 100g of carbs and I only hit the protein goal about half the time. I obviously had no idea what I was eating...or how much. I put in my starting goal of 2000 calories and was blown away at how many days I was eating 3-4k. Well, this is definitely opening my eyes. Which is what the doctor wanted, I'm sure. So I went in and corrected all my goals to more realistic numbers and I'm just hoping that all the baby steps will get me to where I need to be by December which is when I will be having my surgery (hopefully). I usually do better with a lot of micro goals rather than a few bigger goals so I've stepped myself down very gradually but in shorter increments of time. I just need this to work this time. I am so tired.
