Was it purple topped turnip or the yellow kind? How did it taste and how did you make it?

Found one version here http://www.genaw.com/lowcarb/baked_turnip.html
and another here http://buttoni.wordpress.com/2010/08/20/baked-potato/. I tried the microwaved kind and it was good. Put butter and sour cream and chives on it. Not as dry as a real baked potato, but was satisfying. I ate one half with the skin and decided to not eat the other 1/2's skin (somewhat bitter). There is also a good recipe on Atkins for creamed turnips. I am going to try baking them next time to see what I get. It was a purple topped one.
