I normally say I deserve this because, but I'm not really sure what's going on at the moment. I put a lot more exercise in my routine, an alarm goes off every hour when I'm working from home and I do 10 mins of exercise, a lot of that is with weights and resistance as it's small enough not to take up the whole office area I have just created. My diet has been good, no overeating I can think of that would account for the weight gain. I need to get this sorted, but I do need to work out what's going on first.

Totally understand the feeling and I have been there as well. A few advices, make sure you record your calories intake properly, double check the labels on the products, remember that you have to eat 500 calories less every day in order to lose 1 kg a week. Remember that physical activity is only 20%,the rest is diet! Also I recommend you always use the scale in the same position,on the same floor,on exactly the same spot you always use it because they do change depending on the surfaces you use it on. I have made a mark on my bathroom floor for it. Also just notice that some people put on weight when they do exercise (I do) because your muscles stretch and retain more water, but this goes away after around 1 month. You need to do exercise such as running or cardio, rather than working out your muscles at home. Good luck and do not get stressed because of this!

That's the problem, my calorie intake is approximately 1200 a day, I do cardio regularly, it's just the weights that have been added. I weigh in the same place at the same time on the same scales. Retaining water because of muscle work and some slight swelling due to damage could account for some of that I suppose. I just need to ensure the diet is better I suppose, but much lower than that and it's hard to function at all.

I don't think you need to lower your calories intake, because 1200 is very low already. I recommend you drink lots of liquids and is not only the calories intake but the quality of the calories as well, make sure you are eating healthy food, low in fats and low in sugar.

Try not to be too discouraged songingsnail, this happened to me too. I think as drancaanita said my muscles may have been retaining water with lots of new help walking exercise. If you're. eating well and keeping active it has to come right in the end. Hang in there x

when working at home i find people tend to eat 'healthy' sandwiches, however the bread itself may not be the healthiest option...if bread is part of your daily eating make sure it is wholemeal...also people thing grabbing a yoghurt is healthy...its much healthier to make your own with low fat or 0 fat natural yoghurt and frozen or fresh fruits...definitely make sure you are drinking water and drancaanita is spot on...your exercises might be building muscle which will in turn increase weight gain....try doing crunches and similar exercises to tone instead of build muscle
