I loved all the comments yesterday about abstaining vs moderating, and especially appreciated the realization that we are truly each a study of one, so what works for one may not for another. I also loved the point that some of us also could find the need to abstain from certain "trigger" foods/foods we're sensitive to, while eating others in moderation. It was the first article of its kind that I've read recently and as I said yesterday, again made me realize that I'm not alone in my feeling that for me abstaining from certain food types is the way to go, at least for now, for this study of one at this point in my journey.
TGIF, she said this time with more enthusiasm & true feeling than ever! First, my youngest DS comes home from college tonight for spring break! And, I'm armed & ready for the weekend with my 5P plan -- Pausing to ask, "Am I hungry? & Plating the food that I choose to eat and eating it mindfully, as I strive for Progress not Perfection, and Pray for serenity one day at a time! That's my 5P plan & I'm sticking to it!
We have a low-key weekend:), with no plans other than enjoying the time with both boys & dinner with MIL Sunday night (snowstorm permitting). Then next week, DH, younger DS & I head to Utah on Thurs. DS & I stay until next Sunday & DH stays on with the guys for the week. My oldest was to go too, but can't ski as he continues to rehab from the shoulder surgery (which is going very well, but no contact sports until summer at the earliest). Today, I have my annual with the gynecologist (fun, fun -- not!), tennis, book work & DS home tonight… so TGIF!
But now, getting to 1P, I'll start my day in prayer --
God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change; courage to change the things I can; and wisdom to know the difference.
Living one day at a time; Enjoying one moment at a time; Accepting hardships as the pathway to peace; Taking, as He did, this sinful world as it is, not as I would have it; Trusting that He will make all things right if I surrender to His Will; That I may be reasonably happy in this life and supremely happy with Him Forever in the next. Amen.
And I'll Pray, breathe, journal, log & express my way on this one day and through each one meal, moment, bite, thought & emotion. I'm so very grateful for each of Yummy you (yes, some times I just ant to eat you up!), my family & IRL friends, having both boys home soon & a wonderful trip coming up with the health & wealth to live this life I love! xoxox
