Diario de Redtribe, 18 mar. 14

Well, had my corned beef and cabbage last night. I allowed myself a small potato (2.5 oz), but that was it. When I have my left overs, I'll ignore them (I hope). I will still let myself have carrots...not quite at that place in Atkins, but I won't have too many. Since I rarely have them, I'm not going to worry too much. The potato though....quite a few carbs in that tiny amount!

You shouldn't eat potatoes on Atkins. They are full with carbs and have a high Glycemic Index. With one meal you ate 11-13 grams of Pure Carbs! So i'd would say that the meal is gone! Will be stored as fat by now. Next time don't eat potatoes, eat a veggie with low carbs and low Glycemic Index like Mushrooms, Brocholi or Green Peppers! The only way this diet works is to keep it 100%! The sad truth!

I know! I just did it for St. Patty's day. I have left over potatoes, but I'm not going to eat them! My net carbs for the day were a little higher than normal (I usually stick to 25 right now)...they got to 38. It used to be if I ate off program, I would keep going, but I'm better now.

I feel ya! I am always torn after I do something I know I shouldn't have. But you did the right thing; weighed in the next day, saw what one lousy potato can do and are refocused towards your goal. KUDOS! **Also, you have to make your diet do-able with your life. If you normally "do" St. Paddy's day then you would have felt like you denied yourself by not eating that potato. Good lesson to see what 1 potato can do though.

I know! And it was a small one! Just to report in. Had my dinner and did not have another potato! Yay!
