Diario de SaintViper, 22 abr. 11

It's going to be a tough weekend. Going out to eat tonight and Saturday, then Easter dinner on Sunday. I'm working on my plan of attack.

For tonight, it will likely be a seafood buffet. I'll have a salad and stick with baked fish and crab legs. Crab legs should be great because they taste awesome, it take forever to get the meat out, and once you do there's hardly any of it. Pretty tough to go overboard on those.

Plan for Saturday dinner will have to be some type of salad. Haven't picked a restaurant yet so I'll have to find something that has decent salads.

Sunday is going to be tough. It's at somebody's house and there will be tons of tasty food with very little of it being a good choice. Might have to talk to HC and see if she can make something suitable for me that we can bring along.

I could just let it go and eat whatever and then undo the damage next week, but I've been doing that for months now and I want to make some progress. Going with my old eating habits during the weekend and the new ones during the week is not a recipe for success. My old habits have been creeping into the week and it needs to be the other way around. Good new habits creeping into the weekend.

We'll see how it goes.

Well, Friday didn't go quite as planned. We got there a little late and they were out of crabs by the time we were seated. The non-fried food on the buffet wasn't very good. Greasy fish and slimy shrimp. I totally estimated the calories but I think I did reasonably well overall. Saturday's dinner got cancelled so I cooked a chicken on the rotisserie. Dinner wasn't too bad but I snacked more than I should have during the day so overall it wasn't a great effort. Got a nice bike ride in Saturday though so it wasn't a total loss. Sunday was a disaster. I did everything I said I wasn't going to do. Back to the drawing board on that one. Overall, not a great weekend and it will take a couple days to undo the results.

celebrate the victories....hooray for a bike ride!!! I had planned to do one myself on Sunday but the weather wasn't cooperating in the morning and I just lost the motivation. Ended up working with the horses for most of the afternoon (which was really a good thing) and then going out for what I thought would be a short and miserable run but it somehow blossomed into a lovely 7 miler. Felt great! You just never know how these things are going to turn out.

The bike ride was good. A bit cool out and my knees were sore from running, but the cleat adjustment I made last fall seemed to work out well.
