Halve the starches and double the salad? Your host(ess) won’t even notice, as long as you have “some” of everything. And split your desert with your hubby. He won’t mind an extra half-portion!

Great idea grammaLaura thx! Tho my hubby won’t have dessert as he has much more will power than me :)
(He has lost 32 pounds since the prediabetic doc speech! He’s no longer at risk thank God).
I think it’s just going to take more dedication for me to be mindful and keep counting — despite the temptations of all that delish weekend camping food this summer!!
