I started the gym routine in my complex, we have a solid gym and it's usually empty. I use to worry about (was embarrased) at the thought of a public gym, but once I got into it, I realized no one really cares what YOU do. If anything, as time goes on, you just get that nod of approval for being there consistently and being part of the crew. It's hard to say what it's like for woman in a co-ed gym environment. For the most part, I find people to be pretty respectful, maybe not always, but certainly most the time. I really appreciate the strong girls at my gym, they are very dedicated and inspiring. It's funny, I spend a dedicated amount of focus staring blankly into the unknown and avoiding eye contact with anyone. If you are a gym regular you get this.
