Ok been at it for about 8 weeks now and only down 12lbs so feeling a bit bummed. I'm seeing a Nutrionist and following diet and exercise plan closely but it's coming off painfully slow. I am on medicine that has caused weight gain over last year+ of about 20lbs so it's really been tough getting my body to get rid of the extra weight. I know I'm on the right path, just struggling with darn doubts in self at the moment.

1 to 2 pounds a week is very good and what most experts recommend. Too aggressive and it doesn't last. I went from 185 to 145 doing an all water fast for 3 weeks. Bounced right back to 180 within a couple weeks. Not very safe.

That is actually great progress! .5-2lbs per week is the way to go. Anything faster can be unsustainable in the long run.

Also, if your exercise plan includes strength training, you might be doing better than you think. Muscle and fat weigh the same, but the volume is different. The composition change is a good sign for your health, but it will not be reflected on the scale. Your nutritionist should be able to help you figure that part out.

Thank you everyone for your support & words of encouragement. I needed it today. :) I know its not good to try to do over 2lbs a week, but telling my brain that at times is a challenge !😅 I have been doing more arm & leg exercises and the clothes are starting to fit better, so I'm def staying the course & not get doomy gloomy. Appreciate all y'alls help there in keeping me staying positive.❤️

I feel you, I was on Verapamil which was mis prescribed for migraines. Not only did it not work but it also was a weight gain and I’m up 100lbs. So I’m down only 4 lbs since two weeks ago. Yes it’s frustrating and I have whole health coach, nutritionist and I’m doing 10,000 steps a day along with intermittent fasting religiously. Eating under 2000 calories

You are doing great!! It is hard to lose weight! It just doesn't seem to come off at the timeframe that we want it to. Medications and health issues can cause problems with weight loss. I have hypothyroidism and it is always a battle to lose weight; however, I found that with 16:8 intermittent fasting, a 1200 calorie diet, and at least 5,000-6,000 steps a day with cardio, allows me to lose at least 6 pounds a month. But remember everybody loses weight differently because our bodies are all different. Just try several things and you will be sure to find what works the best for you :o).I know it can be frustrating but you got this!!

12 pounds over 8 weeks is no small achievement. Patience, patience, patience. Keeping the weight off, not just losing it, is the ultimate goal, and I've seen too many people rebound because they went too gung-ho. When I was on medication that caused weight gain, my doctor added metformin. I didn't lose what I had already gained, but I didn't gain any more.

12 pounds in 8 weeks is solid weight loss!! A lot of people only lose 1 or 0.5 pounds per week.
