Cream Cheese and Bacon Jalepeno Poppers
An even tempered low carb snack that's low in calories too.
Ingredientes
Instrucciones
- Cut the chili peppers in half lengthwise; scrape out seeds and membranes.
- Fill each half with cream cheese, but do not mound it. Four ounces should be just about the right amount for 8 average size jalapeno halves. If you have extra large peppers, make sure you have a full 8 ounces of cream cheese on hand.
- Wrap each with 1/2 slice raw bacon, making sure to start with the end on the bottom of the pepper. Stretch the bacon slightly to make it go all the way around each pepper once, then tuck ends underneath.
- Place cream cheese side up on foil-lined baking sheet. These can be assembled and chilled until just before baking and serving.
- Bake at 375° F (190° C) for 20-25 minutes.
- If bacon isn't quite done, broil a few more minutes to brown.

Revisiones
They make a new cream cheese..........Greek Farms? I think it is called.....it is 1/2 cream cheese (with 1/2 the fat) and 1/2 yogurt (4x the protein). I use that and then just crumble turkey bacon on top. I have lost 20 lbs in the month of August!!!!!

Anything with bacon has got to be great. Can't wait to try this combo.
If you are on Induction, you should not use fat free anything.

I've been making these poppers forever! I'm so glad to see they're on plan with Atkins induction...because they are mighty tasty!

So good and very easy to make. I used real bacon bits instead of wrapping the bacon which NEVER get crispy enough for me.

This is a great recipe! If you switch out the cream cheese for fat free cream cheese then the poppers come in at only 40 calories a piece. I will be making this one again.

Hubby and I do these on the grill every summer. I use a toothpick to hold the bacon on the jalepeno. One piece of bacon will wrap about 3 peppers. I use low fat cream cheese and add a few herbs to the mix before I stuff the peppers.
Be sure you know how hot your peppers are before you stuff too many. We've had a drought this year and could barely manage to eat the batch we made this summer because the heat was so intense from them... and we like hot! Even w/no seeds my Hubby was almost brought to tears.
