Welcome to my personal hell. Mom is back in the hospital with another heart attack. She's 74 miles away from me. I have no car and I'm sick. She was choppered out last night (mon 16th) and it's 2pm and I STILL have no word yet how she is. Still calling and waiting for call backs.
Her caregiver had walked out on her last week without notice leaving me to try and take full care of her again. As it was, her caregiver only came in 2-3 times a week. Mom is so weak.
Also since Friday there is NO WATER at my or her apartment complexes. Can't shower, can't flush the toilet, dishes piling up.
And the kicker is, it's been running in the upper 90's here and lucky me I have scabies again. Got them again from my dear mom because her doctors wouldn't listen to me. Months ago I got them after she came back from Oregon with a rash. I got treated for scabies but her doctor said my mom didn't have scabies. She was just allergic to her meds or that's what the dermatologists said. My mom has been half mad for months scratching to where she has lost most of her hair and she has sores all over her body. My mom ALWAYS believes her doctors so she wouldn't listen to me either. FINALLY when I was dxd last week AGAIN, her doctor decided that , hey.. MAYBE I was right!! So he FINALLY wrote her a scrip to take care of her scabies BUT we lost water before we could use Permethrin and well, here I am....
Ok, back to the psycho ward..

We're on well water here in this little town which is great, EXCEPT someone here flushed 2 pairs of women's underwear and they got caught through the system and burned out both our pumps.

Yes, personal hell is right! Ruby I wish there was something I could say to make you feel better but want you to know you're mom and you are in my thoughts and prayers. Wow, that is a lot of pressure Ruby, please take care of yourself somehow. TOWANDA!

Thank you everyone, really:) I'm "ok" and mom is still in the hospital. The stress is no good for my fibro or diabetes but I'm muddling through. She has water in her lungs and it looks like she has signs of dementia.. I need coffee.. <smiles> not sleeping well.

You deserve a big huge cup of coffee. Have you been able to make the trip up there to see her yet? Again, no words can express how sorry I am for you. I know you are having a very rough time right now. Just know there are a lot of us here supporting and praying for you and your mother.

Thanks Keli. No, unfortunately I haven't been able to go see her. Frankly I'm not well enough but I have talked to her on the phone a few times. I am going to see her after she's placed somewhere closer though. I'm going to try calling her later today:)

Ruby, I am praying for you dear friend. I am so sorry that you are going through this. It is so stressful when our parents get ill. My mom has some dementia, dad is still suffering from the after effects of the stroke, and now is having neuropathy in his feet (from his diabetes, I would suppose), so I know what you are going through. It is sad that our loved ones have to suffer so when they come to the last years of their lives. I am praying for you, and for your mom. And don't forget to take care of yourself. You cannot care for anyone else, if you are sick. I am right here if you need me. Email me, pm me, what ever, if only just to vent!! Stef
