I was supposed to walk/jog with my group of friends from work today, but they decided it was too warm to do this after we got off from work. I didn't let this stop me though. I waited until after I got home and it cooled off a bit. I got my 40 minutes in. I was really proud of myself because I did a 12 minute jog and a 10 minute jog with only a three minute walk reprieve in between. If it hadn't been for the killer hill I had to go up, I believe I could have gone longer at a jog.

On Friday, a group of my friends from work began walking/jogging for thirty minutes after school. We have agreed to do this on Mondays and Fridays. We are also hoping to encourage more of our co-workers to join us.

Alright, my caloric intake was poor today. I do weigh in tomorrow, and I have been going back up instead of down. It was my husband's birthday, and we did eat out. We both agreed to forego dessert though.
Since I will be starting the walking challenge Monday, I made it a point to walk on the treadmill today after my class at the gym. I completed the calorie burning program based on 30 minutes plus 2 minutes of cool down. It feels good to be able to walk on the treadmill again. I hope to work back up to where I am jogging again, but I have to be careful not to overdo or the plantar fascitis that I was dealing with will return.
It is my goal to have this challenge help me to become conditioned enough to be able to participate in a 10-K that I participated in last October. I have a little over a month. That was the first 5-K I completed without having to walk. It was such an accomplishment. I may not be able to jog the whole course this year, but I do want to complete it.

Yea! I went jogging for the first time since April. It felt great. I had to alternate walking and jogging, but I know I will be able to build my endurance back up. It feels so good to do cardio! So far the foot feels okay. I have been stretching it out because it has felt like it was tightening up a bit a couple of different times. We will see how it does during the remainder of the day. If need be, I will ice it down and wear my splint tonight.
My excursion to Burger King afterwards ran my calories up, but I had to get something to eat after having routine bloodwork done. Oh well, I will make up for it.

Alright, it is the first of June. School with the kids is over. Katy has officially graduated. Aside from post planning and summer school, the summer is mine. I now have time to focus on me and what I want to do.
I am back to teaching my Group Power class one day a week during June. The left heel and the right ankle are much improved. I am going to try and start jogging again and see how my heel responds. I have also ordered a Hip Hop Abs video. I don't feel like I am ready to go back to doing Step classes yet so I am going to try this instead. I can't wait for it to arrive.
I have a large garden going and I have been spending time working in it. With the heat of Georgia summers, I will either have to work in the early morning or early evening. Most of the time during June, it will be in the evening. I am growing alot of fresh vegetables. I can't wait until they start coming in. I am already harvesting squash. I just need to find some great ways to use it in recipes.
I am at 165. Still below my starting weight, but 10 pounds from my target weight. With the summer before me, I should be able to do this.
