Wow, this is the first time I've ever dieted and i'm really learning a lot. I've been reading other people's comments and wondering if I'm approaching thigs wrong. Somehow my thought pattern keeps telling me that "yes, this is a way of life and yes, I will eat low carb for the rest of my life after doing this, but that I will eat the things i want to sometimes in moderation like pizza and bagels and potato chips. I'm not sure that's how i'm supposed to be thinking, but it seems like I can't really fathom the idea that eatting a slice of pizza sometime in the future would not be a good thing. I guess being on the extended induction is really making me not get a good long-term view of this diet. Hmmm, something to ponder.

Ok, I'm pleased to say I'm trimming down, pound by pound. Maybe I can get below the 150 mark by early next week. i think when I can get there, I may look at beginning OWL, but these first pounds were a little slow to come off and we have our honeymoon in October so I'd really like to be at about 125 pounds by then, or at least 130. My best friend and I are going in on some Zumba dvd's and I think with some good cardio, the pounds will really becoming off and staying off.

I'm so energized this morning. Although I have not lost anything in the past 24 hours, I tried out three new recipes from fat secret last night and they all three were incredibly good! The sausage and egg breakfast muffins are delish and we have breakfast covered for a few days now. Then, the zucchini with parmesean is just heavenly and the mock cheese crackers are the first enjoyably crunchy thing my husband and I have had since starting Atkins.
I think my few faults on this are possibly a little too much cream and coffee some mornings and then I am not recording the carbs I'm getting from unsweet tea either. And I don't think I'm going to bother. I'm beginning to lose some weight and I think if I really stall out, then maybe I'll take a look at those things, but unless that happens, I'm going to give myself that. Now, I need to get some exercise in, but our apartment gym has been so incredibly crowded and then we have a heat advisory every day this summer so walking outside is pretty much out of the question. Maybe I'll look into a workout video. My husband wants to do some yoga/palates only thing, but I'm thinking I really need some cardio as well. We'll see.
Alright, now to feel this positive all day! Better remember those vitamins....

Wooohoooo! The first time I can really tell via the scale that I'm losing weight! Being the fourth week on our extended induction is not quite as bad now that we've found a few more things to eat. This morning we're going to try the MIM and I can't tell you how excited I will be to have something somewhat bread-like. HOpe this works.
