Holidays are over and I'm getting back on track. It's working.
My husband is a golfer, and he has taught me about swing thoughts, a kind of mantra used to keep your mind centered on the next shot. My swing thought is "VEGGIES!" I want to stuff every meal with them.

We have finally completed our move, if not our unpacking. It's been incredibly difficult to eat well and often it was just impossible, and even more often I was too exhausted or pressed for time or unable to get healthy foods. I had convinced myself I had gained quite a bit of weight and yesterday when we located the scale, I was ready to face the music. Turns out I had lost four pounds and surpassed my goal!
I haven't been able to exercise, though, so I'm flabby and having much more back pain. Neuropathy is flaring up in one leg, too. But now that we're here and somewhat settled in, I can get back to walking. My fur baby wants back at it too!

Have had the scale packed up for weeks for the great decluttering before our house goes on the market (this week!) It's gotten cooler here so I got out a pair of jeans a few days ago and they were so big on me! Last year they were very snug. So I dug out the scale and yeah, I've lost 3 more pounds. 3 to go to goal weight. I've been working soooo hard, and sweating buckets.
The stress has really gotten to me. And I've done my share of stress eating, but my indulgence was okra pickles, olives stuffed with garlic and fresh mozzarella balls! Would just stand at the fridge eating okra pickles out of a jar!
Looking forward to some normal life again some day!

Good things are happening!
Things are crazy here, but I manage to stay on track by getting fruit trays and gnoshing on them all week. When I need and can take a break, I go get a veggie meal at the cafeteria. I've been cooking a lot to reduce the food we have stored so we don't have to move it. I make big casseroles (no boil baked ziti was AWESOME) that my husband and I eat for several meals. I'm plowing through the freezer...in a good way!

Yay! I broke out of the 200s! Bought some new clothes, although I have lost the most in my upper body and not where I really want it diminished. Once a pear, always a pear!
Side benefit that means a lot to me--my husband has been able to reduce his triglyceride med due to MY diet. He now regularly eats oatmeal bread, brown rice and more vegetables than he ever has before. His A1C is in range too!
